Studio Hours
Slip Studio is open from Tuesday to Saturday and once a month on Sundays for Family Clay Date.
- Tuesdays 1-9pm
- Wednesday 10am- 6pm
- Thursday 10am-6pm
- Friday 10am-6pm
- Saturday 1-6pm
Weekday mornings are reserved for weekly classes, while afternoons are for members only.
Evening workshops take place on Wednesday or Thursday night, once a week.
Visiting artists come to Slip Studio on Friday and Saturday mornings for special workshops open to the public.
Saturday afternoons are reserved for drop-in studio time (public) and private parties.
Sundays and Mondays are reserved for Sun & Mon studio memberships.
Drop-in Studio Time
Drop-in studio time is perfect for those who want to come into the studio and play with clay with NO instruction!

On Saturday afternoons, Slip Studio is open to the public from 1pm – 6pm for drop-in studio sessions. Reservations are recommended, but walk-ins are always welcome.

Book your 2-hr open studio slot and receive 2lbs of reclaim clay to make anything you want! Use rolling pins, hump/slump molds, slips, and studio tools in creating your masterpiece (you will not have access to the slab roller or extruder).

There will be a studio monitor on hand to answer questions and guide you, drop-in studio time has NO formal instruction. Don’t forget to score and slip your work, being mindful of attachments- we want your piece to survive the kiln!

We’ll fire and glaze your pieces in your choice of studio-made glazes. Or, if you prefer to glaze your own piece, schedule an additional drop-in studio session for painting and
glazing.Â

- All materials, hump molds, ribs and tools on-hand in the studio
- A studio monitor will be available for assistance during drop-in studio sessions
- Your pieces will be fired & glazed for you in your choice of our food-safe studio-made glazes or come back in and glaze your pieces for a $20 drop-in fee
- Pick up your finished pieces 4-6 weeks later

Outside firing is possible at Slip Studio. Please contact us directly using the form below for details and clay/glaze approval.
Our Skutt 1027 features a 6.4 cubic foot chamber, measuring 22.38" in diameter and 27" deep.
Firing Temperatures:
- Bisque: Cone 04
- Glaze: Cone 6 (high fire)
- Luster: Cone 019 (fast)
Outside Firing Rates:
- 8 cents per cubic inch per firing
- Full kiln rental $500
