I've never done pottery before. Can I still join a class?
Yes! You will be walked through the important steps in each pottery class. Class sizes are small so that you can focus on the instructions and pay attention. You’ll be making stuff on your own in no time!
What should I wear to a pottery class or workshop?
Wear comfy clothes and shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty. Everything washes out, but there are no guarantees, better yet- bring an apron or smock!
How long will it take for my pottery piece to be ready for pickup?
If you took a workshop, it can take up to 6 weeks for your pieces to be ready. In pottery, the clay needs to be completely dry before it can go into the first bisque firing. Larger and thicker pieces take longer to dry, of course. Then your pieces need to be glazed and fired again- so pottery is quite time-consuming!
Do you offer private events for groups or special occasions?

Can I buy handmade pottery from the studio?
We have a few things on hand for purchase in the studio.

Where is the studio located, and is there parking?
Slip Studio is located at 10 County Center Rd, Suite #127, White Plains, NY 10607. We are conveniently located in the heart of Westchester, right off the Bronx River Parkway and Tarrytown Rd (Rt 119), making us an easy trip from Scarsdale, Mamaroneck, or Greenwich CT. Parking is free and plentiful in the dedicated lot at the County Center building. Our studio is also accessible via the White Plains Metro-North station and local bus lines. If you have any trouble finding us, just give us a call at 914-295-9515!
Do I need to bring anything to class?
Just yourself and a sense of adventure! Clay, tools, and all materials are provided. Don't forget to wear clothes you don't mind getting a little dirty, or bring an apron.
What types of pottery classes and workshops do you offer?
There are options for every experience level, including wheel-throwing classes, hand-building workshops, glazing sessions, and special themed events. Check the Classes and Workshops pages for the current schedule and upcoming events.
What is your cancellation or rescheduling policy?
Life happens! Please contact me at least 36 hours in advance if you need to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations may be subject to a partial or full fee, as class spots are limited.
Do you offer gift cards?
Yes! Gift cards are available for purchase and make a perfect present for the creative person in your life.
